Building benches and bonds!

For my Gold Award project, I created a Buddy Bench for Discovery Elementary School. The bench is a place where lonely students can sit to signal to other children that they would like to play.

I created a Google Slides presentation, pitched the idea to the school's administration, and once approved, I built, painted, and installed the bench. Then, with students from Discovery, I made an introductory video that is shown at the start of school each year to help connect students to the bench. The bench is now in use on the Discovery Playground!
